Prawns Recheado Masala Rawa(Semolina) Fry




20 Medium size prawns


1 Tsp Tumeric pwd

1 Tsp Kashmiri chilly pwd

1 Tsp Spicy chilly pwd

1 Small bowl of Recheado masala


1 Small bowl of Rawa( Semolina)


Oil of your choice

Salt as per

Recheado masala recipe:

50 gms Kashmiri chilly pwd

3 Cloves

2 Sml pcs Cinamon stick

1/2 Tsp Tumeric pwd

1/2 inch Ginger piece

3 to 4 Garlic cloves

1/2 Onion

1/4 Tbsn Cummin seeds

Tamarind – 1 sml size of lemon

1/2 Tbsn Sugar

Salt as per taste

Grind all the ingredients with just enough Goan vinegar to form a thick paste.Bottle and store in a cool place.


Wash and deshell the Prawns but leave the tails on, and slit them from the top to devein them. as shown in the pic


Apply Salt,Tumeric pwd, both the Chilly pwds and Recheado masala and keep aside.


Coat all the prawns with Semolina on both sides by pressing down with your fingers. Make sure the prawns are nice and flat as shown in the pic.


Heat oil in a frying pan and shallow fry the prawns on low to medium heat so that the semolina doesn’t burn. Once golden brown from the bottom flip over the prawns and fry the other side.
