Red Chicken Curry


1 Kg Chicken pcs

3 Tsp Kashmiri chilli pwd

1 Tsp Spicy Red chilli pwd

1 Tsp Jeerem Meerem pwd

1/4 Tsp Pepper pwd

Juice of 1 lime

Salt as per taste

Marinate the Chicken with the above ingredients and keep aside.

To Grind:

1 Sml Onion

1 Tbsp fresh Coriander stems

1 Tbsp fresh Ginger/Garlic paste

2 Green chilies

1 Tbsp Dessicated or Freshly Grated Coconut

Grind the above in a mixer with little Water to form a paste.

Other Ingredients:

1 Potato cut into cubes

1 Sml Onion chopped fine

1 Sml Tomato diced

5 Pepper corns

5 Black cloves

1 inch Cinammon stick

1/2 Tsp Tumeric pwd

2 Tbsp Oil

Fresh Coriander leaves chopped

Jeere Meerem masala:
100 gm Jeera
100 gm  Pepper corns
25 gms Cloves
25 gms Cinammon
50 gms Tumeric
Grind all to a fine powder and store in an air tight container


In a Cooking utensil heat the Oil and add the Pepper corns, Black cloves, Cinnamon stick and fry for a min. Now add the Onion, Tomato and Tumeric pwd and saute till the Onion goes soft.

Add the marinated Chicken and the Ground paste and fry for 5 mins on medium flame.

Add water to the mixer bowl and as per your consistency add to the chicken.

15 minutes before the Chicken is cooked add the Diced Potatoes

Cook till the Potatoes are done. Garnish with Coriander leaves

Serve with Rice/Bread/Chapati
