Beef Jeerem Meerem Curry


1/2 kg Beef/Veal slices

Beef/Veal slices

1 Tbsp Goan vinegar

1 Tbsp Jeerem Meerem powder

1 Tbsp Green masala

Salt as per taste

Jeere Meerem masala:
100 gm Jeera
100 gm  Pepper corns
25gms cloves
25 gms cinammon
50gms Tumeric
Grind all to a fine powder .

Green masala:

To Grind:
1 Bunch Coriander
10 Green chillies
8 Cloves of Garlic
1 1/2 Inch Ginger
1 Inch Cinnamon stick
8 Black cloves
1 Tsp Cumin seeds
1 Tsp Coriander seeds
1 Tsp Tumeric pwd.

Green masala

1 Onion chopped

Onion chopped

1 Tomato chopped

Tomato chopped

5 BlackCloves

1 Inch Cinnamon stick

5 Black Pepper corns

1 Tbsp Fresh Coriander stems chopped fine

2 Tbsp Oil

1 Potato cut into thin round slices

Water as required

Fresh Coriander leaves to garnish


Marinate the Beef/Veal slices with Goan vinegar, Jeerem Meerem pwd, Green masala and Salt for an hour. Heat Oil in a cooker and fry the Cloves, Pepper corns and Cinnamon stick for half a minute. Now add the chopped Onion and fry till it goes soft. Add the chopped Tomato and chopped Coriander stems and fry for another 2 mins on medium flame. Now add the marinated Beef/Veal slices, mix well and fry for 5 mins. As per your consistency add Water , close the cooker and cook for 3 whistles on medium flame. Let the cooker cool down, remove the lid and add the sliced Potato, at this stage check for Salt and Vinegar, if required add another Tsp of Jeerem Meerem pwd and cook on low flame till the Potatoes are cooked. Garnish with fresh Coriander leaves and is ready to serve
