Tisreos (Pipis/Clams) Xacuti


1/2 Kg Tisreos ( Pipis/Clamps) washed and cleaned

and marinated with juice of 1/2 Lime and Salt.

1 Cup fresh grated coconut

4 Pods Garlic

1 Inch pc Ginger

2 Green chillis

1 Tbs dry coconut pcs

1/2 Onion chopped

Few Coriander stems

3 Tbs Oil

Fry the above ingredients except the Tisreos till the Onion goes soft and the Coconut turns light brown and the raw aroma of the Ginger and Garlic disappears. Keep aside to cool.

Other Ingredients:

1/2 Onion chopped

1/2 Tomato chopped

1/2 Tsp Tumeric pwd

1/2 Tsp Chilli pwd

2 Tbs Xacuti/ Garam masala pwd

Grind the fried Ingredients in a mixer with little water to a fine paste

In a Cooking utensil heat 3 Tbs of Oil and add 1/2 chopped Onion,Tomato.Fry till they turn soft.

Add the Spice powders and fry for a min on medium flame. Add 1Tbs of Water to avoid sticking to the bottom.

Add the Ground paste and mix well

Add the marinated Tisreos and mix well

Add enough water as per your consistency, check for salt and can add Xacuti/ Garam masala at this stage for taste..Cook with lid closed, on low to medium flame till the Tisreos are done..aprox 10mins. Garnish with fresh Coriander leaves
